Our Ethiopian Ayehu comes from a Horizon / Ethio-Agriceft farm in the fertile highlands of the Amhara region of northern Ethiopia. It grew between 1,700 and 1,800 meters above the sea level. The farm, in western Gojam, is about 500 kilometers from Addis Ababa. It currently has more than 200 hectares of Arabica cultivated, although a plan is underway to increase it to 500 hectares. All four coffee plantations under the management of Horizon / Ethio AgriCeft practice sustainable agriculture, growing coffee fairly towards the environment and its inhabitants. The farms and surrounding areas are home to nearly 100,000 people who live and work on the plantations. With the use of the Organic and Rainforest Alliance awards, the organization was able to invest in housing, education, health centers and clean water supplies for farmers and their families. They have also invested in their own facilities to improve the working conditions of their employees. Region: Amhara Variety: ancient varieties Process: natural Altitude: 1,700 - 1,900 masl
